I was born on June 29th, 1959 and was licensed in April 1977
Clipperton DX Club
I
became a member of the Clipperton DX Club in 1978, on the occasion of the first
CDXC convention held in Paris, following the FO0XA-FO0XH of April 1978. This was
the first rare DX I worked (remember it was #1 or 2 on the most-wanted list
then). I am a past President of the Club, now honorary, and still enjoy the
yearly Conventions and meeting DXers from all over ! You can support it too !
Bordeaux DX Groupe
This
local DX group was created in 1980. The Bordeaux region is the most DX active
one in France. The founding members (of which I am part of) wanted to establish
a club so we could enjoy gathering around a bottle (or more) of our great
regional product. As I often say in a QSO, "I'd rather drink it than spell it".
We meet 4 times a year, with technical presentations, DX-oriented talks,
Dxpedition films projections. The group is VERY successfull, and all hams around
France envy us : one reason it works well is that there is no fee to be part of
it !
Some QSL cards
Some of the cards from the operations I took part of.
Objective : DX and DXpeditioning !
Friendship
all over the world is a great motive to become a ham. Chasing DX is one facet
among many, one that I have enjoyed since the beginning.
I also love being chased when I am operating from rae, semi rare , or very rare
"countries". Between work and pleasure, I have visited over 50 countries, though
I have not been active from all of them !
Among the rarest I activated are a brand new one with KH8SI, and various "top
10", at least by the time I was there : 7O, FJ, FR/G, FR/J, KH1, KH5,
KH5K, ZA. The thrill is fabulous, and the pleasure to "give a new one" is even
more rewarding.
